January – December 2023 is Planteria’s first year completing a full GHG inventory, and these emissions were verified by a third party.

By going through this process Planteria have identified areas where the  methodology and data collection can be improved for future

Next Steps

Planteria are in the process of completing their EcoVadis submission which solidifies their commitment to net zero.

Their carbon reduction plan and net zero pathway will be reviewed each year to ensure reduction targets are being met and schemes are being implemented.

Data collection is underway for the 2024 period and these emissions will also be verified by a third party.

Solution

Across the process there were no significant findings including in the third party verification of emissions, however suggestions to improve data collection and was identified to ensure the emission figures was as accurate as possible.

Going forward Planteria aim to implement carbon reduction strategies such as:

  • Having a fully electric fleet by 2035.
  • New warehouses or offices are to be fitted with LED motion-sensored (PIR) lights.
  • Explore renewable energy sources such as solar power onto the warehouses and offices if feasible.
  • Reduce the emissions associated with commuting per staff member from 1.36 tonnes of CO2e to around 0.65 tonnes per employee by 2040.

"The support was amazing, first-class knowledge and very helpful from day one."

Rik Swaine / Head of HSQE

Professional and efficient

"David and Joe were very professional and guided myself and my colleagues through the process of verification perfectly. Meetings organised in advance, and efficiently managed to ensure every aspect  was covered, with follow up reviews of what was needed from us, and the points we had covered."

David Lock / Sustainability & Facilities Compliance Manager

Focused guidance and support

"It has been an absolute pleasure working with yourself and Carbonology; the service that Culligan have received has been supportive and professional throughout the entire process. Given that this was our first experience of auditing our scope 1 and 2 results, the task at hand could potentially have been extremely overwhelming, but your advice and guidance has allowed us to focus on what was material, and provided much needed reassurance.

I sincerely hope that we will be able to continue this partnership in the future, as the benefits from Culligan’s perspective have extended beyond the ISO verification itself. The visibility and confidence that we now have in our source data, as well as an understanding of the improvements that we can make to achieve accurate results in the future, will all help Culligan to deliver its long-term decarbonisation strategy"
